Kroger Gift Cards
The EASY Way to Earn Money for GRRAND.
1. Purchase a gift card from GRRAND for $5.00, and the card already has a credit balance of $5!
2. Go to any cashier or to the customer service desk at ANY Kroger store and request to recharge your card for ANY amount up to $500.
3. Pay for the recharged card with cash, check, or major credit card.
4. Use your gift card for all your purchases at any Kroger store.
5. GRRAND will automatically receive 4% of the amount recharged on your gift card. It?s That Easy!
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the gift card program work?
GRRAND purchases gift cards from Kroger and sells them for full value ($5.00 each) to GRRAND members and supporters. Gift cards are rechargeable. When GRRAND supporters recharge their cards, GRRAND receives 4% of the value.
How convenient is it to recharge the card?
It is very convenient to recharge your card. Gift cards may be recharged for up to $100 at ANY REGISTER. To recharge for more than $100, gift cards will have to be recharged at the Customer Service desk prior to doing your grocery shopping. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to use the gift card to pay for your groceries, the gift card must be recharged AND PAID FOR prior to being used as payment for the groceries. In other words, you must tell the cashier that you wish to recharge your card BEFORE the groceries are rung. If the gift card is recharged within the grocery order, it cannot be used to pay for the groceries. The gift card recharge must be done as a SEPARATE TRANSACTION first.
What can be purchased with gift cards?
You can purchase anything (including pharmacy purchases) in a Kroger store with a gift card, with the exception of services. Services include: money orders, Western Union, lottery tickets, hunting/fishing licenses, and Ticket Master. The Kroger fuel stations are now equipped to accept gift cards. The gift card is accepted in all Kroger stores throughout the U.S. and can be sent to family and friends out of state and still benefit GRRAND, as long AS LONG AS THE CARD IS RECHARGED.
How do I use my gift card to make purchases?
After you have recharged your gift card, simply present it to the Kroger cashier for payment, just like you would a credit card. If you use the U-Scan lanes, press ?credit card? as the method of payment and slide your gift card through the card reader. Your Kroger receipt will show the balance remaining on your gift card.
What if I lose my card?
Just like with the gift cards for sale at other stores, we cannot be responsible for the card value if you lose or throw away your card. If you lose your card, you will need to purchase another one from GRRAND in order for it to be linked to GRRAND. Gift cards to support GRRAND cannot be purchased at Kroger stores.
What happens after I deplete the amount of money recharged to my gift card?
Always try to keep at least a dollar on your card. Once your card is depleted, please recharge it, so that GRRAND will continue to receive benefits. A gift card with a zero balance for 90 days will be voided out of the system. At that point, the card cannot be recharged to benefit GRRAND, and you will need to purchase a new card from GRRAND.
What if I don't use my gift card for a long period?
If you continue to use your gift card regularly, you should have no problems. There is no longer an inactivity fee as long as a card maintains any amount of balance it will remain active and the balance will never change.
How can I purchase more gift cards to benefit GRRAND?
Please call the GRRAND voice mail at 812-981-2251 or email krogercard@grrand.org to place an order for one or more cards to benefit GRRAND. Each gift card costs $5.00.
Occasionally a card is demagnetized and cannot be recharged. This is rare but it does happen if a card has been used a lot. Usually recharge problems are errors made by the cashier. If you experience this problem, please call the voicemail number at 812-981-2251 or email krogercard@grrand.org and state that you are having problems with your current card. A new card will be issued for you and any remaining balance transferred to the new card. A card purchased in a store CANNOT be linked to GRRAND.
